“Most people don’t live. They merely maintain life in their bodies. That is not living. You don’t truly live until it becomes completely unimportant whether you live or die. Only at that point do you begin to live. When you are ready to lose your own life, only then do you live. However, if you are constantly protecting your life, you are already dead... Are you ready to risk everything?” — Anthony de Mello
This article is deeply personal, reflecting on my own experience with death, particularly in the form of personal encounters and my evolving understanding of it. Traditionally, death is seen as the end of something — but as I have discovered through my own journey, this view represents just one side of the coin.
A Call for Meaning
A few years ago, I reached a point where I wanted to do something with a higher purpose — something that would truly fulfill me. Though I was relatively young, I had already achieved a great deal in my career. I had established myself professionally, managed various projects, led teams, and earned a decent income. But despite all this, something was missing.
That’s when I came across Michael Newton's Journey of Souls. I read the first, second, and third books in one go. After finishing them, I felt compelled to experience something similar myself. Newton’s work focuses on past life regression through hypnosis, and I wanted to see what insights it might offer about my own soul’s journey.
Regression Therapy: A New Beginning
I found a hypnotherapist trained in Michael Newton’s methods — Asja Širovnik. Her name itself intrigued me, as it was the same as my six-year-old daughter’s. But beyond that, I was drawn to her energy.
During my session, I was guided into a deep meditative state, where my soul took center stage while my mind observed the process. The first part of the regression took me back to my childhood and even to the time when I was a baby. Experiencing the world through the eyes of a child again was both humbling and enlightening. My memories from that time were filled with a profound sense of safety, love, and happiness — emotions I could never fully comprehend until revisiting them during this session.
The most striking part of the experience was when I transitioned from the physical world to the state of the soul — an experience without a body, free from the constraints of ego and thought. What I felt was pure, unfiltered love and peace. It was blissful beyond words.
Revisiting Past Lives
The regression didn’t stop there. I was taken back to a past life, where I experienced my death. It wasn’t a peaceful passing; instead, it was violent and tragic. I lived through the trauma of being tortured and ultimately dying as a result. The experience was overwhelming and terrifying, and I remember feeling a deep sense of fear and helplessness during that part of the regression.
But as I transitioned from the physical realm to the soul’s state, everything changed. I felt liberated, at ease, full of energy, and completely safe. The experience allowed me to see that death was not the end but a transformation — a transition to something new, something eternal.
Embracing the Lesson of Duality
One of the key takeaways from my regression was the idea that the soul chooses certain experiences in each life for specific lessons. The pain, the fear, the challenges — they all serve a greater purpose. And this includes death itself. Through my regression, I gained an understanding of how to approach life and death with acceptance and without fear.
When we face the challenges life throws at us — even death — with acceptance, we find peace. The challenges that seem difficult or painful are, in reality, part of our soul’s growth. The experience of suffering, when embraced, can lead to profound insights and personal transformation.
Helping Others Through Energy Work
After this deep exploration, I realized that my true calling involved helping others to face their own fears and challenges. I began to tap into the healing power of energy work, particularly Reiki, which I now use to help others. Through this work, I can offer calming energy and emotional support to those in need, helping them release their fears and find peace within themselves.
Conclusion
My experience with regression therapy opened my eyes to the depth of the soul’s journey. It helped me understand that death is not an end, but a part of a larger cycle of transformation and growth. Now, with a deeper understanding of life’s purpose and the soul’s path, I feel more aligned with my true self and more capable of helping others on their own journeys.
For anyone grappling with the fear of death or the unknown, I hope my story offers some comfort and perspective. The truth is, death is not to be feared but embraced as part of the larger journey we are all on. And through embracing all aspects of life — even death — we can experience the fullness of living.
